Preparing for any Forecast

February 15, 2019

Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.” John Ruskin

A lot of people believe that ‘bad’ weather – such as a cold day, rain, snow, or too much sun – has the power to ruin an event. We chatted with Rosie at Brolly Bucket to brainstorm ways to be ready for any eventuality.

Cold / Wet Weather

It is highly recommended that given the unpredictability of the English weather, you plan for all possibilities at any time of year. Rain on your event day can really put a damper (excuse the pun) on things – if you let it! Brolly Bucket’s online hire shop offers a gorgeous selection of umbrellas, wedding umbrella packages, cosy blankets, and event special styling extras such as hay bale covers. Turn an umbrella or blanket into a stylish accessory for your event, in keeping with your theme and colour scheme.

Rosie explains, “Brolly Bucket have a fantastic offering, tailored to suit weddings: the Big Day Package, which is extremely popular for teepee weddings!” Click here to view.

Heatwave

Sure, having a hot sunny day is the dream for a lot of people – however, you need to be prepared for this forecast, too!

A couple of cost effective, fun touches to add to your event would be a hamper of foam flip flops for guests at the edge of the dance floor, or a basket of low-cost sunglasses for guests heading outside the tent.

Another great option, sure to be a big hit with all of your guests, would be an ice cream van or gelato stand! We recently spoke with Feast It, a fantastic catering agency listing a huge variety of food trucks and stands who would be perfect for this – head over to our blog post on Feast It here. For even more info, check out Gary & Vic’s Wedfest, where they had a gelato stand to help with the heat!

Snow

A teepee in the snow can be a beautiful sight! With grand wooden doors luring in the guests and keeping the warmth inside, to a cosy log fire indoors, a white wedding is simply stunning.

Snow can also create a magical photo opportunity – just remember to bring be a faux fur wrap to keep warm, and two pairs of cute matching wellies for the bride & groom!

Brolly Bucket hire service covers the whole of the UK, with delivery & collection via DPD and organised by Brolly Bucket. Delivery can be direct to your venue, home, or work for ease. Their website can be found by clicking here.
